Differences Between Clek Foonf and Fllo Convertible Car Seats

If you are looking for a new car seat and are not already familiar with Clek, then here’s your opportunity to learn a bit about them.
A Canadian company that has been making car seats for several years now, Clek may be on the expensive side, but with that higher price comes a host conveniences and safety features that will let you rest easy knowing that your little one is being kept safe.
The Clek Foonf and Clek Fllo are the company’s convertible car seats, and while they are both best-in-class when it comes to safety, they have a few differences which we will examine below.
●Size
Both the Foonf and Fllo have seat sections that are identical in size, but there is a difference in overall size due to the base.
●Weight
The Foonf is the heavier of the two, weighing in at 38 lbs when forward-facing (33 lbs without the wedge base or anti-rebound bar). Compare that to the Fllo’s 28 lbs. (or 25 lbs without the anti-rebound bar).
●The Base
The Foonf’s removable base is wedge-shaped for use in a rear-facing position, while the Fllo has a flat base that includes and integrated rear-facing flip foot.
●Installation
The Rigid-LATCH system means the Foonf is extremely easy to install correctly in the forward-facing position. In the rear-facing position, standard latch is used.
The Fllo used a standard LATCH attachment in either direction, and both Foonf and Fllo are able to use your vehicles safety belt in either direction.
●Crumple Zone
In terms of safety, you cannot go wrong with either the Foonf or the Fllo, though there are minor differences in the crumple zone technology required by the differences in the design of the bases.
●Other Features
In the forward-facing position, Foonf has two recline positions, whereas the Fllo has only one. Both seats feature the same height and weight limits when rear-facing (14 to 50 lbs). When forward facing, the limits are 20-65 lbs (Foonf) and 22 to 65 lbs (Fllo)
Both seats feature a steel anti-rebound bar that gives added stability and a secure rear-facing installation. They both also have advanced side-impact protection, steel bars, structural headrests, and are both made with GREENGUARD Select Certified Crypton Super Fabrics free of brominated and chlorinated flame retardants.
●Overall Safety
Both seats provide tremendous security for your child, but always bear in mind that the safest seat should fit your child and car correctly and be installed properly. That said, if you are installing the seat in a forward-facing position with LATCH (UAS), the Foonf’s REACT Safety System is recommended, as it is designed to work with a Rigid-LATCH (UAS) installation. Otherwise, the Fllo would be the better option (and cheaper, too).
●Which to Buy?
The Foonf is an excellent choice if you plan to use the seat in a forward-facing position with LATCH (UAS), as you will benefit from the REACT Safety System. It is also quick and easy to secure forward-facing. It also offers multiple recline positions.
The Fllo is perfect for you if you plan to use the seat until the maximum rear-facing limit, and then move on to a booster seat. It is a great option if you plan to install it in a position that won’t have LATCH (UAS), or if you are installing 3 across. The Fllo also sits lower to the vehicle seat, which may be a consideration if you prefer that for the improved visibility.
Whichever you choose, you can be sure that you are providing the greatest safety to your little one when you are out on the road, which will always be the prime consideration.
