Thule Yepp Maxi (rack-mounted or frame-mounted)

It is available in rack-mounted or frame-mounted versions, which differ only in the way they attach to the bike. Not every bike will accommodate every seat, but if your bike is compatible with a rack, then you can count on the rack-mounted seat working with your bike, though you may require the EasyFit Adaptor. With the right rack, or having the adapter installed, the seat locks into place quickly and easily. A safety strap provides an extra measure of security by wrapping around the bike’s seat post, ensuring that if the EasyFit system somehow failed, the bike seat would stay mostly in place until you could come to a stop.

Suitable for children from 1 year to 48 lbs, the seat is made of a durable, weather-resistant foam and is available in multiple colours. Simple to mount and unmount, the seat features an easy-to-use 5-point harness for your child’s safety.

Thule Yepp Mini

The Thule Yepp Mini is a front-mounted seat for younger children from 9 months to 33 lbs. Made of the same “Crocs”-like durable foam, the seat is well-ventilated for warm weather, comfortable, and easy to clean. It features rubberized shoulder pads that help keep the straps from sliding down your child’s arms, as well as other safety features, including foot straps and a two-handed safety buckle.

The Yepp Mini provides your child a greater sense of safety with a u-shaped handlebar they can hold onto, keeping their arms in a comfortable, natural horizontalposition.

The standard mount included in the Yepp Mini needs about 2” of space on the bike’s steer tube and will fit on a threaded or threadless headset. Mounting the bracket is not too difficult, though you may prefer to have a bike shop do it for you if you are uncomfortable removing and then replacing the handlebars. If less than 2” is available on your bike, an adapter can be purchased for threadless headsets. As with the standard mount, removing the handlebars will be necessary.

Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi

The Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi is another excellent rear-mounted bike seat. The lightest rear seat offered by Thule (at 6.6 lbs) and with a low centre of gravity, it tends to feel more stable, which can be a relief to riders who find that rear-mounted seats throw off their sense of balance.

As with the Yepp Maxi, the Yep Nexxt Maxi installs quickly and easily by sitting the seat on the rack and twisting a knob in the rear. This tightens the mounting arms underneath the seat, clamping onto the rack. By attaching directly to the rack, the seat sits lower, helping with balance. For safety, the footrests of the Yepp Nexxt Maxi have large plastic shields to keep your little one’s legs and feet safe from contacting your wheel as you ride.

Thule Yepp Nexxt Mini

The Thule Yepp Nexxt Mini is a great choice for those who are unsure if their bike has enough room to mount a seat, as it fits a larger number of bikes than other child bike seats. Like the Yepp Mini, this is a front-mounted seat. Compact and comfortable, it is a great choice as your first child bike seat. Suitable for the same age and weight range as the Yepp Mini, the Yepp Nexxt Mini is a compact seat that weighs half as much.

The Thule Nexxt Mini comes with a unique mounting system that is designed for threaded and unthreaded stems making it simple to install. Once mounted, it can be removed easily with a quick-release lever. The seat goes on or comes off in seconds.

With a narrow profile and reduced space requirements, the Nexxt Mini is remarkably unobtrusive and makes riding safe and more fun, while accommodating children up to 33 lbs or 3 years of age.
