What’s the difference between Bugaboo strollers?

Posted by Active Baby Canadian Online Baby Store on 2018 Jun 22nd

You’ve been looking for a stroller and have finally settled on a Bugaboo. But after finally settling on a brand, you are now looking at the different options that Bugaboo provides. Do you go for the Donkey? How about the Cameleon or the Bee? And then there’s the Buffalo and the new Fox...

Bugaboo has been around for 22 years now and have been focused exclusively on creating the best baby strollers for you and your baby and have made an impressive lineup known for quality and performance. There is sure to be an option to fit your needs, but it can be pretty tricky to choose a model if you don’t know the differences between them.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the different models and see what each one has to offer.

Bugaboo Cameleon 3

The Cameleon is based on Bugaboo’s original stroller, the Frog. Building upon the success of that classic stroller, the Cameleon was once known for being the lightest of Bugaboo’s strollers. It has lost that title, but it is still known for an incredibly smooth push due to a wonderful suspension. It easily handles rough terrain, especially when using the innovative reversible handlebar, which allows you to lead with the larger rear wheels. Snow and mud are no obstacle for the Cameleon.

Bugaboo Cameleon 3 also features ample storage and an innovative fold, letting it carry everything you need while in use and folds neatly away when not in use.

Bugaboo Bee5

The Bee is Bugaboo’s option for a light stroller, coming in 2-3 pounds lighter than the Cameleon, and sitting comfortably somewhere in between an umbrella stroller and more fully-featured options. This stroller weighs in at a mere 19 pounds and has small-- though well-suspended-- wheels that are best suited to urban environments and smooth pavement. It is also well-suited to take on flights.

Among Bugaboo’s strollers, the Bugaboo Bee5 is the only one that does not come with a bassinet in the box at purchase, though one is available as a separate purchase. This lightweight stroller is a great option as an everyday stroller, or for travel, and will last you a long time owing to its durability.

Bugaboo Buffalo

The Buffalo is a luxury all-terrain, everyday stroller geared toward active parents. It’s perfect for long strolls in the park, or for running errands and shopping. Its four shock-absorbing foam tires perform extremely well no matter where you go, and for especially difficult terrain, it can be used in a two-wheel mode.

Usable from birth with the included bassinet, it can also adapt to a travel system with a car seat adapter, while the child seat is usable from 6 months up to 50 pounds.

With great features like one-hand recline, a reversible seat and a huge basket, Bugaboo Buffalo is a great companion for you and your little one in all your activities.

Bugaboo Fox

New on the scene, the Fox is replacing the Buffalo. Featuring similarly-sized wheels, but a lighter chassis, the Fox is nimble enough to get you where you want to go, and now looks to be a direct competitor to the Cameleon.

Designed in response to where the stroller market is heading, the Fox is lightweight, features a standing fold, can fold with the seat in either direction, and has class-leading storage. It is also designed with eco-friendly fabrics and options for aesthetic customization.

All-in-all, Bugaboo Fox is looking like one of the most impressive new strollers seen in nearly a decade.

Bugaboo Donkey

Newly updated, the Donkey has a new, modern aesthetic. Bugaboo has responded to a number of comments by tightening the frame and adjusting the buttons and fabric. This new model has nearly 100 changes over the previous model.

The Donkey stands out as Bugaboo’s only double stroller. Starting as a single, it expands sideways allowing space for a second child, and offers several options for configuration with bassinet, seat, and car seat.

With great storage room, a removable side bag that can hold up to 22 pounds, and a narrow side-by-side profile, the Donkey is one of the finest doubles available.

What all these models share is Bugaboo’s commitment to quality, durability, and function. No matter what your needs, Bugaboo has an option to meet and even exceed your expectations.
