Two strollers that are very often compared are the UPPABaby Cruz and the Nuna Mixx2 Although not quite at the same price point, they are close enough that the two are often held to be of comparable quality and value. These two models, however, do have differences, so you’ll want to explore which is more suitable for you and your family.

One of the deciding factors in choosing between the two is whether you are looking more for a city stroller, or a suburbs stroller, with the Mixx2 being more suitable for the former and the Cruz more at home in the latter.

This is heavier than some other single strollers, though it doesn’t quite feel that way.  It has a stair mode when folded, which helps families living in walk-ups, and when placing it in your car’s trunk, it’s worth lifting it in two pieces, reassembling it once loaded.

Roaming Through the Suburbs

The UPPABaby comes with several features to make it stand apart from the Nuna Mixx2. 

Coming in at a lighter 21 lbs, it features an even bigger storage basket and a compact fold. With or without the seat, the weight feels the same, with one of the best weight distributions on a stroller. The Cruz has one of the best standing folds available, allowing it to fit into small, narrow spaces for storage.

Pairing the UPPABaby Cruz with the UPPABaby Mesa Infant Car Seat creates a travel system that functions without adapters, though the included adapters must be used with the Nuna Pipa Infant Car Seat.

Aesthetically, the Cruz features retooled fabrics this year that include more texture options, creating a beautiful lineup, and the real leather handlebars guarantee a beautiful wear over time. Like Nuna, UPPABaby’s canopies are extra-large and have a 50+ UVF rating.

While the Mixx2 is at home in the city, the UPPABaby Cruz is more suited to the suburbs, with smaller, lighter wheels and little to no suspension. Where the Mixx2 can glide over cobblestones and bumpy sidewalks, the UPPABaby Cruz is in for a rougher ride.

So, which is best for you? Well, if you are out and about every day, strolling the city streets, the Nuna Mixx2 is likely your best bet. If you will be lifting the stroller in and out of your trunk frequently, you may find the size and weight of the Cruz easier to manage. If, however, you prefer UPPABaby while living in the city, you may want to look at the UPPABaby Vista. Though more expensive, it is more comparable to the Mixx2, owing to its larger wheels and suspension system.
