Full-Size Strollers

Some full-size strollers can be used from birth with a manufacturer-approved bassinet, newborn position, infant insert or compatible infant car seat and adapter. Newborn suitability varies by model. Always follow the stroller and car-seat manufacturers’ instructions, and confirm compatibility before purchase.

The main stroller difference is pretty simple. A full-sized stroller is larger and heavier and comes with more features like storage baskets, adjustable seats, and better suspension. Travel strollers and compact strollers on the other hand, are light as a feather, super compact, and designed to be as portable as possible, so they're easier to fold up and haul around on trips or errands.

A good full-sized stroller should have a comfy seat that can adjust to multiple positions, a sturdy frame that can handle bumps in the road and some decent suspension to keep it smooth, some storage space to stash all the essentials, a good braking system that you can rely on and some safety features like a five-point harness. Having a big canopy to keep the sun off and being compatible with infant car seats is a nice bonus too.

How long a child can use a stroller depends on the model’s height and weight limits and the child’s needs. Check the product specifications and manufacturer instructions rather than relying on a general age estimate.
