About your speakers:

Katie Reitsma (Live It Well Nutrition) is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist who specializes in pediatric nutrition and women's health.

Katie is 100% science-based and she puts her years of formal nutritional education and decade of working in the school system to use in her business. She offers In-home visits to offer personalized advice, look through your cupboards and help you connect foods to symptoms, as well as sit with you through a baby/ toddler meal. She is a former Emergency Medical Responder and is currently Emergency Child Care and CPR-B certified, specifically trained in infant Anyphylaxis management, choking, and more. Introducing the first allergenic foods with Katie in your home is extremely reassuring!

She is a military wife and the mama to 2 back-to-back littles (a 1 year old girl and 2.5 year old boy). Katie enjoys public speaking and has done so in most large baby stores in and around Vancouver as well as many motherhood podcasts! When in mommy-mode, Katie can be found makeup-free, walking her German Shepherd to parks and playgrounds with her 2 kiddos!

Holly Choi (Safe Beginnings) discovered her passion for teaching while working in the medical software field for over 5 years. Following the birth of her first child in 2015, Holly certified as a First Aid Instructor with the Lifesaving Society BC/Yukon Branch. Shortly thereafter, Holly became co-owner of Safe Beginnings First Aid alongside her sister, Jill Colpitts. Safe Beginnings First Aid is the Canada’s leading provider of infant and toddler-focused safety courses; together they have educated over 8000 caregivers and professionals since late 2016 with essential lifesaving skills.

With a keen interest in child safety, Holly certified as a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) in October 2015 with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada (CPSAC). Since certification, Holly continues to volunteer weekly in her community; helping caregivers gain confidence with their car seat installation and usage. In October 2017, Holly certified as an Instructor (CPST-I) with CPSAC, and now trains new CPSTs across the Greater Vancouver area.

When she’s not busy teaching, Holly can be found enjoying family time in North Vancouver, BC with her husband and their two young daughters, ages 1 and 4.
